When her sister was cast in a show that earned The Big Bang Theory star her first Golden Globe nomination, Kaley Cuoco refuted claims of nepotism.
The casting of her sister Briana Cuoco in the comedy mystery thriller The Flight Attendant, according to Kaley Cuoco, was entirely unrelated to her.
The Big Bang Theory actor Kaley Cuoco recently encountered allegations of nepotism after her sister was cast in a recurring role in her Emmy-nominated comedy The Flight Attendant. Nepotism has long been a problem in the film industry.
Because of her friendship with Cuoco, there were questions about her casting in the show. The actress later denied any involvement in her sister’s casting, claiming she was unaware that her sister was trying out for the comedy series.
Kaley Cuoco Denied Nepotism Claims After Sister’s Casting in The Flight Attendant
Kaley Cuoco rose to fame after starring in the CBS sitcom, The Flight Attendant, and was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the mystery thriller. In addition, her sister Briana Cuoco plays Miranda Croft’s colleague Cecilia in the program.
Some quickly surmised that the Charmed actress, who starred as the main character and served as an executive producer, might have had a big say in Briana Cuoco’s casting.
In an interview with Collider, the actress later addressed these presumptions, stating, “Rewinding to Season 1, no, the character was not written for her.” Examining audition videos, the Emmy-nominated actress claimed to have discovered that her sister had tried out for the part.
We were casting and no one told me she was auditioning. I was watching self-tapes every night. All the producers were. I went to my Cecilia file, and I was watching everybody, and Bree popped up. I wrote the group, and I was like, ‘My sister auditioned?
The actress acknowledged that she might have been prejudiced in favor of her sister because of her participation in the casting process. She withdrew and gave the studio the last say in the matter, which they ultimately approved of her casting. Cuoco also gave her sister props for her outstanding performance in the program.

Kaley Cuoco Enjoyed Working With Her Younger Sister
Kaley Cuoco mentioned to Collider that she had always wanted to work with her sister, thus she appreciated having her around when doing so.
Regarding her experience working with Briana Cuoco, she said, “First of all, having my sister around, because she’s my favorite person, has been a dream to be able to work with her.”
I was so excited that we actually got to have a little bit of a moment on screen this season because we didn’t get to do that last year.
Even with a small part, Briana Cuoco steals every scene in which she appears. Although Cecilia and Cassie don’t engage directly and don’t have a meaningful friendship or conversation, they do have a brief encounter in Season 2.
In addition to The Flight Attendant, the Cuoco sisters worked together on Harley Quinn, an animated series on Max in which Briana provided the voice of Batgirl. Additionally, she had a brief cameo in Season 6 of The Big Bang Theory as Gretchen.
One of Briana Cuoco’s most recent roles was as Jenny Green in the critically acclaimed Netflix horror comedy Dead Boy Detectives. Both the show and her performance were well-received.
