Rowan Atkinson’s Mr. Bean Leaves Twitter Users In Shambles For A Hilarious Reason

Repurposing a meme or piece of trivia that has already gained popularity online is a simple way to become viral. Anyone who spends a lot of time on Reddit or X, the former name of Twitter, can probably attest to the fact that a lot of content occasionally goes viral because people enjoy hearing the same things repeatedly. Mr. Bean, a mainstay of many people’s childhoods, is currently caught up in one of these phenomena, and it’s not the first time.

There were just 15 episodes of the British television series “Mr. Bean,” which starred Rowan Atkinson as the title man-child who frequently finds himself in dangerous situations. But these were dispersed over a five-year period, from 1990 to 1995. Because of this, one could understand that people may have assumed there were more episodes than there actually were. However, this does not stop X users looking to gain influence from repeatedly posting this information. The account @InternetH0F is the most recent to go viral with this tidbit of trivia. They posted a clipped meme of the trivia that has received over 25 million impressions so far, without even crediting the person who created it.

This is not the first time the data has been made public. The X account @NoContextBrits shared in April 2022, “There are only fifteen episodes of Mr. Bean.” Growing up, I believed I had watched ten or so series.” People are still in awe of this fascinating fact today.

There are potential explanations for why people think there’s more Mr. Bean than there is

It makes sense that people who grew up watching “Mr. Bean” wouldn’t know the exact number of episodes, particularly if they were released in a disorganized fashion over a period of five years. However, there might be another reason why there didn’t seem to be as many “Mr. Bean” stories as there actually were. This very subject gave rise to a Reddit thread, where user u/haddock420 provided this logical explanation: “The reason we think it has dozens of episodes is that each episode had 3 different stories in it, so it was like getting three episodes for every episode.”

People probably believe Mr. Bean has been a constant force in the entertainment industry since the 1990s because he has appeared in so many films over the years. However, as of right now, Rowan Atkinson seems to be finished with the role, so don’t expect him to reprise it in live action anytime soon. If nothing else, there are a ton of Mr. Bean’s adventures to savor, including the entire 15-episode original series.
